K - Blogging Challenge "Kiss"

A to Z Challenge is posting every day in April except Sundays (we get those off for good behavior.) And since there are 26 days, that matches the 26 letters of the alphabet. On April 1, blog about something that begins with the letter “A.” April 2 is “B,” April 3 is “C,” and so on.

Today's letter is K.
Kiss

No not that Kiss.

THIS KISS

That is a pretty hot kissing picture.

For me, when an author writes a steamy kissing scene it can be as blazing hot as a erotic sex scene. I especially adore reading about that first kissing scene. Whether it be a historical romance, steamy contemporary or a blazing paranormal shifter story, a kiss can be the most intimate communication a couple can have.

I also love the subtle touches that often come with a kissing scene. He feathers loose hair behind her ear, she holds his face in her hands, he gently rubs the skin at the back of her neck. All the while while kissing. A perfectly written choreographed kiss is one of my favourite things to read about in romance novels.

“First he kissed her eyelids. One and then the other. She smiled and he breathed a laugh at her amusement.

Next he moved to the tip of her nose. It’s warm softness brushed against his lips. He inhaled the sweetness of her breath, growing harder at the anticipation of her lips against his own. No, he definitely hadn’t experienced this in a long, long time.

He swept a series of kisses over the satin of her cheek and along her jaw up to her ear where he whispered, “I want to taste you.”

How about you? Are you a fan of the kissing written word?

  1. Oh man so true. I've read some fairly tame--sex wise--books but the kissing scenes were amazing and definitely brought some serious heat. Love finding those.

And yeah that is a very hot kissing pic. Dang!

  2. I always loved a well-written kissing scene when I read/wrote romance...but they were HARD to write!

Visiting from the A to Z Challenge signup page. Great to meet you!

  3. I love a good kissing scene! Even more so than the supposedly steamier stuff, actually.
