Crossing the Line by Evelyn Jules

Crossing the Line

By Evelyn Jules

Book Blurb:

Madison Kelly is an erotic romance author from Canada on her way to her first writing conference ever. Across the border. A trunk full of dirty books and dildos proves enough to amp up her nerves and make her lips flap faster than the maple leaf flag.

But she’s not going anywhere until George Petropoulos gives the go-ahead.

The Greek god of a border guard has something other than national security in mind when he detains this particular citizen. He can’t help but be charmed by the juxtaposition between her stammering blushes and the racy books she writes.

A hot and heavy interrogation brings out her inner sex goddess, one that she’s been hiding in the pages of her books, and leaves them both wanting more. But will they be brave enough to cross the line again?

What a dream for a romance book reader to experience! You know how so many time readers will ask their favourite authors questions like, "What was your inspiration?" or other questions like, "What gave you the idea for the story?" Well folks, for Crossing the Line I was there! Right there that precise moment when Evelyn Jules had her mind spinning on how to turn a brief moment in time and roll it out in to a short steamy story. It was a beautiful thing to witness.

A few years ago, two readers and two authors decided to carpool from Canada to the US to attend a popular book convention. As we crossed the border, we all swooned because our crossing guard was hot. There is just something so attractive about a man with a commanding presence, wearing an uniform and oozing intimidation. Oh yeah, he was totally good looking to top it off. Right then as he questioned our drestination and other security questions, the story Crossing the Line started to form in Evenlyn Jules' dirty smutty mind. This sexy story was the ultimate result.

Crossing the Line is very sexy and is quite possibly one of those many fantasies that women have when they see those smoldering, serious border crossing officers. I wasn't sure how Evelyn Jules was going to get the protagonists from the crossing line to crossing THE line but it was done is perfect manner and you could almost envision it. (oh come on, let the fantasy ride ladies!)

I loved it. I loved how the story came to be. I love how it was orchestrated. I loved how the author was still able to offer an air of innocence to the erotic protagonists and I loved the completely affordable price of .99 for an amazing memorable hot read. I am not sure if I will ever see a border crossing officer in the same light again.

Cheapskates in Love by Evelyn Jules

Elena Armstrong & Ben Kessel's book

Cheapskates in Love

by Evelyn Jules

Book Blurb:It’s couples skating night down at the local rink and Elena Armstrong can’t seem to keep her cocky jock blind date around long enough to knee him in the balls. Sadly, she was too much of a cheapskate to pay for a membership to an online dating site and based everything on Leonard’s personality profile alone. Big mistake.
At the opposite end of the rink, Ben Kessel, another cheapskate on a blind date with Iris, the ice princess, is having a similarly miserable time. Elena, a hater of all things sports-related, inches out into the skating world butt-first and collides with Ben. After sharing their hilarious and horrifying dates-gone-wrong stories, the two disappear and make everything right again on the floor in the players’ dressing room. Almost everything. They forget to exchange numbers. Now these two cheapskates need to make the ultimate sacrifice: pay for a membership to the online dating site so they can track each other down. But is the possibility of love really worth the price of $24.95 per month?

How adorable is that cover?!?!?

I immediately fell in love with Cheapskates in Love and was really disappointed that it ended too quickly. This couple demanded a full novel!

Cheapskates in Love is my third time reviewing a novella by Evelyn Jules and I think it is high time that she write a full length story. I ADORE her heroines. They have all been so fun and Elena is a great addition to that club.

When I think of a romantic date, certain scenarios pop into my mind. Ice skating is one of them. That is why I was smiling while reading about both Ben and Elena meeting at the ice rink while on dates with other people. I was cracking up reading about the personalities and the hilarious descriptions of those other dud dates. I suppose when you try out the online dating game, you have to kiss a lot of toads to get to that one prince.

It made me smile that both Ben and Elena aren't really getting the best selections lined up for their blind dates.  They are both too cheap to spring for the full dating package offered by the online dating service. I know that there are some real cheapskates out there that can relate to their monetary dilemma.

As I was reading along loving the chemistry that Ben and Elena were experiencing with their laughs and banter that I completely forgot that this is suppose to be an erotic novel. I actually wanted them to continue with their joking and date longer instead of getting to the hot steamy stuff. Now that ought to tell you something right there!

It was so refreshing to read an erotic themed novella that was light and contemporary.

Blind Faith by Evelyn Jules

Faith and Adrian's book

Blind Faith

By Evelyn Jules

Book Blurb:
Faith Lawson is just your average, wholesome librarian with a dirty mind...until a chance encounter with a handsome stranger brings her fantasies to life in a frantic night of passion. But when he walks out her door, he leaves a piece of his past behind that changes everything.

I love books where the title is a double entendre. Perfection.

Blind Faith is a sexy short story by debut author, Evelyn Jules. This .99 gem is a deal on Amazon!

It amazes me how authors like Evelyn Jules can write such short stories that still deliver excellent character interactions and development. Faith has been admiring Adrian from afar and a chance meeting out in the slippery snow gave Faith an opportunity to just go for it! Leading with lustful thoughts, the pair makes it back to her close-by apartment.

A steamy encounter, including some fun banter, reveals that Faith is a fan of the more "sexier" romance novels. I loved this concept because lustful quickies are often the way in erotic romances and I kept thinking to myself that perhaps Faith is being fueled by some of those fantasies. It brought a smile to face. There is nothing more awesome than reading about a woman taking what she wants.

Their much to quick encounter does have immediate consequences which leaves Faith a bit ashamed of herself and more than a little bit mad at Adrian. I felt that her reaction was completely justified. Even though the reader knows Adrian's thoughts and point of view, I couldn't help but side with Faith.

Luckily Adrian gets a chance to do some explaining and it nicely wraps up where their lustful emotions seems to take them when they get within a few feet of each other. Amazing debut to Evelyn Jules. I can't wait to see what else she publishes in the future.
