Wicked Ties by Shayla Black

Morgan O' Malley & Jack Cole's book

Wicked Ties

By Shayla Black

Book Blurb:
She didn't know what she wanted until he made her bed for it...

Morgan O'Malley has seen a lot of kinky things as the hostess of a cable sex talk show. But she's never met a man like Jack Cole before. A self-proclaimed dominant, he's as alpha as a male can get and good for Morgan to have around when an obsessed stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her.

Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what's more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it and how she starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure, but she has no idea how personal they are...

Wicked Ties is a re-re-read for me. That’s the beauty of buying Shayla Black books; you know that you’re gonna reread them over and over again.

Jack Cole is my favourite male character in the Wicked Series. Now that’s a hard decision to make because there are a lot of alpha males to choose from. Morgan describes Jack as, “He smelled like midnight and elemental male” and his demeanour is characterized as, “His passion had the kick of cayenne pepper, balanced with the sweetness of honey, caged in control of steel”.  How can a girl not swoon?

Jack meets Morgan under the guise of being interviewed regarding the D/s lifestyle for her cable TV show. However he has revengeful ulterior motives unbeknownst to Morgan. His casual meeting over coffee results in a stalker shoot out, seeking refuge in a strip club, a smoking hot petting session and then the chapter wraps up with an escape to a secluded house in a Louisiana swamp. That’s just the first two chapters!

Wicked Ties is like an erotic lover’s testimonial. The journey of Morgan discovering her submissive was so tantalizing.  Back a few years ago Wicked Ties was one of the first BDSM types of books I had read. It was evident that Shayla Black did thorough research for book structure and content. I found I shared many of the same questions and doubts that Morgan had about the D/s lifestyle and ultimately became much more comfortable reading about bondage and dominance afterwards. In fact, I love this genre of erotica now. (As well as purchasing pretty much anything that Shayla Black writes)

I love when erotic books have a great story line that I can get involved with as well as fan myself over the intense love scenes. There was a great backstory trying to figure out who was stalking Morgan, an introduction to some great secondary characters (that as a reader you want to know more about) and an emotional investment with the main characters. In subsequent books that follow Wicked Ties, I am always looking for snippets about Jack and Morgan. They are a memorable couple.

Wicked Ties is a BDSM story but there are no crops, whips or floggers (although I am sure Morgan and Jack would go down that road eventually) but mostly focuses on bondage and lots and lots of pleasure. Throw in the hottest dirty talk ever and top it off with a Ménage à trois you got yourself a winner with Wicked Ties.

I totally agree with your review. Jack and Morgan are so hot together. I also like how we get to see them again in the next book.

I totally agree with you! This was also my first Shayla Black story (well other than the one she wrote with Lexi Blake), I really enjoyed it too ;) I will be starting the 2nd one in the series shortly.
