Piper Glen and Rafe, Kade and Talib's book

Khalil al Bashir has long coveted his cousin’s rule. Without a bride to seal their birthright, his every wish will come true. If Piper falls for them, he will lose everything but Piper can’t love them if she’s dead…
You would think that a book that was penned by two amazing, erotic authors would end up being a perfect 5 in my rating system. Sadly I was so disappointed with Their Virgin Concubine. I can't believe it. Shayla Black and Lexi Blake are such great writers that normally write books I love with exceptional eroticism. I enjoy their books immensely.
Firstly let me say that Their Virgin Concubine is book 3 in a series but each book can be read as a stand alone. Secondly Amazon had a great deal on where the book was only .88. I totally jumped on that deal because I was going to pay the full price originally.
So what went wrong for me? Well, honestly it was the erotic scenes and the lack there of. There were only 3 in the entire book! One where Piper loses her virginity, a short BDSM play scene between Piper and Tal and then the finale.
Starting with the first scene,it was so quick. The lead up was nicely paced then it was over once she loses her virginity with Tal. The other two brothers have sex with her too but nothing is written about it. It was just understood it happened.
The BDSM scene really wasn't about the sex at all. It was about Piper trying to get Tal to open up to her. It was over before it started and for the amazing BDSM scenes that both authors have written before, this was so light. It was like they didn't want to go "there".
The finale was good but should have been just a regular scene in what I would consider these great authors to deliver.
Now the story itself was also lacking. I loved so many elements but then so much of it fizzled for me. I just wanted more. So much more. I've become greedy I guess.

Mine to Hold by Shayla Black
Tyler Murphy and Delaney Catalano's book
Mine to Hold (Wicked Lovers book 6)
By Shayla Black
Book Blurb:
A friend’s duty.
Tyler Murphy was an LAPD detective, single and happy—until a near-fatal tragedy crippled his friend, fellow detective Eric Catalano. While he supported Eric, he also became a shoulder for Eric’s wife, Delaney, to cry on. But with one naughty suggestion from Eric, a drunken night with Delaney spilled into erotic abandon. Before it was over Tyler saw his best friend’s wife as a woman and yearned for more. When Eric struggled to deal with the aftermath, Delaney begged Tyler to leave. Crushed, he fled to Louisiana, hoping to escape his longing for the one woman he could never have again…and unaware of what he’d left behind.
A lover’s desire.
After two years of living with regret, Tyler finds Delaney on his doorstep, her husband having abandoned her long ago. She’s protecting a shocking secret and desperately needs refuge from a killer determined to see her dead. As they fight to stay alive and catch the stalker, they struggle to resolve the guilt of their past pleasures. But they can’t deny that what was once a spark is now a flame burning out of control. To possess Delaney — body and soul — Tyler must heal her pain and thwart the evil that’s a mere breath behind her…
ARC review
Mine to Hold is a wonderful addition to the Wicked Lover's series. Mine to Hold is book 6. You can read it as a stand alone but there are so many awesome updates regarding the previous couples included that it would be more meaningful if you are a fan of the series. Plus they are OH so good.
I've always said that Shayla Black should win a prize for the best first lines of her books. Mine to Hold is no different.
"Tyler, are you aware that all the girls at Sexy Sirens have nick-named you Cockzilla?"
Got your attention right?
The first two chapters push all your curiosity buttons. You need to know how, what, why and when.
Delaney shows up at Tyler's house under mysterious circumstances AND she is toting along a beautiful baby boy... that just happens to be Tyler's. Oh yes, you need to know what the heck is going on. I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of books about secret pregnancies but Mine to Hold is so much more than that story line. There is drama, action, angst, mystery and of course, hot steamy romance.
One of the many things I loved about Mine to Hold is that Shayla Black answers questions the reader has through the heroine, Delaney. She makes Delaney pose these questions herself.
I'll give you an example.
Delaney needs Tyler to watch over their baby boy, Seth. Tyler's house is full of company when she arrives. The visitors just happen to be each of the previous couples. *squee* Delaney picks up on the fact that a few of the couples have an alternative lifestyle and questions whether or not Seth should be left near people who freely discuss and use floggers and whips.
This thought process that Delaney experienced is completely spot on and is what would be expected of a parent. I would have been so disappointed if Delaney didn't question herself doing the right thing or if she paid no attention. I simply loved that Shayla Black addressed the exact thoughts I was having through Delaney's inner thoughts. This occurrence happens numerous times. Outstanding.
I loved the back story that was written regarding Delaney and Tyler. You want to know and understand how Seth came to be. I thought it was creative and added a lot of insight to how the couple's personalities came to be in their present day situation. I felt for both of them and it was very easy to dislike Delaney's ex-husband, Eric.
As Delaney and Tyler make their way by ever-changing vehicles from Louisiana to LA, you can read how they're becoming reacquainted with one another and their feelings for each other are like simmering electric wires. They cannot deny their chemistry as hard as Delaney tries.
Their intimate scenes are incredibly sexy and emotional. Delaney has been so lonely that your heart breaks to read about how she is affected by just experiencing a hug or a touch by Tyler. She is so worn down from running, single parenthood and loneliness. Tyler has been trying to compensate from his past rejection of Delaney. I love how quickly he just wants to embrace it all, Delaney and Seth.
What Mine to Hold also does is set a perfect stage for Xander's book. What a trip that guy is. I cannot wait to see what Shayla Black has in mind for him.
Teasers: One drunken night, betrayal, disastrous kitchen trickery, Tyler's Angel.

Belong to Me by Shayla Black
Tara (Cherry) and Logan's book
Belong to Me (Wicked Lovers book 5)
By Shayla Black
Book Blurb:
When FBI analyst Tara Jacobs's fellow agent and best friend goes missing while investigating a sex ring, Tara goes undercover as a submissive in a BDSM club. But no man can top a woman like Tara-until a dangerous Dom takes control of the scene and sets her heart racing. Too bad he's also the man who stole her innocence years ago-and one to whom she'll never submit. But Navy SEAL Logan Edgington knows he alone can protect her-and this time he'll never let her go...
The Wicked Series starts off so, well wicked. Wicked Ties (book 1) remains my favourite but it seems as this series goes on, I seem to either be losing interest or the series is fizzling out for me. In Belong to Me not only does the completely predictable villain reveal itself almost immediately, I was struggling to be interested in Logan and Cherry.
Let me give you a brief synopsis of Logan and share my frustration. He is Navy Seal, Dom man completely pussy whipped since 16 yrs old as we are to believe that the three month encounter in his teens he experienced with Cherry, had him so lost in love that he chose to lead a celibate life, tattoo'd his body with undying love for Cherry while he became a regular DOM paddling and whipping subs into shape at a BDSM club. Yeah right.
Then there is Cherry. She is now an FBI agent and everyone keeps telling her she is submissive. She is still hurt from Logan breaking up with her right after losing her virginity at 16. Her emotional yo yo personality had me dizzy. She's strong, she's weak. She's submissive, she's a leader. She's tough when she ends an engagement abruptly yet she weak hanging onto unreasonable feelings from her teen years. I yi yi yi.
Logan was to be a Dom yet he constantly had to remind Cherry of that fact. My feeling is if a man is Dom, the last thing he needs to do is constantly remind his sub that he is a Dom. Then on the flip side, Cherry keeps being told she is a sub yet she rarely displays a sub personality. She liked the little bit of bondage Logan introduced to her but that is pretty much where I saw her submissive side displayed and end. At most I see Cherry enjoying a little bit of play in relationship but I can't see her living that lifestyle. I just felt like it was a battle of wits on continuous play.
I was so disappointed with the suspense mystery part of the plot. I kept hoping that the hints that Shayla Black obviously placed were to throw the reader off track and we would be blown away at the end. Not so.
I liked the idea of the FBI sex ring plot. I thought it was a really great idea to have FBI agents to go undercover to bust up a brutal slavery ring. The descriptions of what was occurring sent shivers up my spine and I felt the desperation Cherry felt while anxious to get in there and rescue her dear friend and fellow FBI agent. It was a risky task and I did admire her for taking on that challenge.
Once Cherry softened up in Belong to Me, I thought the sex scenes were steamy and hot. Logan was on edge constantly as he was suffering from being so in love (over the top in love) and wanting to train her in preparation for the mission. The erotic aspect of book was really well done.

Entice Me at Twilight by Shayla Black
Simon Northam (Duke) and Felicia's book
Entice Me at Twilight The Doomsday Brethren, Book 4
Shayla Black
Book Blurb:
Dangerously handsome Simon Northam, Duke of Hurstgrove, and his uptight brother Mason are hardly close, but crashing Mason’s wedding and stealing his fiancée further aggravate their sibling rivalry. Duke’s family has no notion he’s a wizard, so how can he explain that magickind’s fate lies with the beautiful, tenacious bride he longs to seduce? Felicia is an
Untouchable, a rare human whose presence disables magic—even the impenetrable forces surrounding Morganna le Fay’s tomb. The evil witch’s malicious powers could propel nefarious wizard Mathias to ultimate world domination . . . if he can resurrect her. To conceal herself, Felicia must succumb to her smoldering desire for Duke, but he risks binding his life—and sanity— to a lover whose loyalties are forever torn. He faces a choice: betray his brother for ultimate survival . . . or lose the woman who tempts him beyond control.

All I can say is thank gawd Shayla Black put in a bit of a teaser of Embrace Me at Dawn (book 5) at the end of Entice Me at Twilight. Otherwise I just might have filled her Twitter feed begging for answers. Whew, she took pity on her readers and shared a bit of what’s to come. Instead of dying of angst, I am giddy with anticipation so that’s a way better to go.
Since Entice Me at Twilight is a part of an ongoing exciting Doomsday Brethren series, the book does end with some unanswered questions. If someone were to ask me if Entice Me at Twilight could be read as a stand-alone I’d have to scratch my head and think about it. I would say no. There’s just too much of a back story to really grasp it all. You’d need to understand the beginning. Beside the first book, Tempt Me with Darkness still remains my favourite of the series so you’d be starting out at a great beginning. So my review is written as if you have read the series from the beginning so I don’t have to explain the complicated history.
I want to start off this review talking about Simon Northam, Duke of Hurstgrove. I have loved him since the first book. He’s classy, easy going and honest not to mention that I melt a wee bit when he talks. Ok let’s discuss this “honesty”. Well thank God he is honest because he’s the only man in the world that is now mated with a woman who can tell with 100% certainty if a person is lying or not. Felicia is a rare human called an Untouchable and one of her gifts is knowing when someone is speaking the truth. I found it interesting that none of the other Doomsday Brethren teased him about that fact. I don’t think many men would be too excited that their mate for the next 1000 years will know every single time if he is telling the truth or not. Yikes! I wouldn’t like that if my hubby had that ability.
Felicia’s other ability is rendering a witch or wizard magically useless while in their presence. That would be a bit scary for the Doomsday Brethren as well so it will be really interesting reading in the next book the complications that ability causes.
I wasn’t a big fan of Felicia. She frustrated me and she certainly came off being weak. I am personally drawn to flawed yet kick ass girls. The other part that I struggled with was the Doomsday Brethren, male and female mates, not giving her full details regarding the mating. So on one hand, I was frustrated that she was hesitant about Simon and his intentions and then on the other I was frustrated why nobody would explain the magical culture to her more. Bram finally did later when they were in peril but I was angrier that he hadn’t shared it with her earlier. So I was mad at someone many different times in the book.
I loved the little snippet Felicia offered us into the Bram's mate, the mysterious Emma. I am very curious about that. *ponders*
Entice Me at Twilight was an excellent addition to this great Doomsday Series. I loved Simon and Felicia’s private moments and it was great to see Simon fall totally in love. Mathias, the villain is still the baddest bastard around and his cruelty remains as vicious as ever.
Shock was different in this book. I think he talked more in this book than in any of the other books. He seemed like a different character however he remains just as confusing as ever. I really don’t know what side he's on. Shayla Black has done a phenomenal job keeping the readers at bay regarding Shock. I had a feeling in this book that he is on the Doomsday Brethren side more and it's tearing him up being a double agent. Drowning himself and his emotions in alcohol was definitely a character adjustment for him. The Shock, Lucan and Anka love triangle is going to be so interesting to read. *rubs hands together* I honestly have no theories how it will all end up. If you are a fan of the books, I’d love to hear your thoughts?
2012 is a long time to wait for the next book. Maybe I still will fill Shayla Black’s twitter feed begging to read an ARC. Hee hee

Wicked Ties by Shayla Black
Morgan O' Malley & Jack Cole's book
Wicked Ties
By Shayla Black
Book Blurb:
She didn't know what she wanted until he made her bed for it...
Morgan O'Malley has seen a lot of kinky things as the hostess of a cable sex talk show. But she's never met a man like Jack Cole before. A self-proclaimed dominant, he's as alpha as a male can get and good for Morgan to have around when an obsessed stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her.
Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what's more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it and how she starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure, but she has no idea how personal they are...
Wicked Ties is a re-re-read for me. That’s the beauty of buying Shayla Black books; you know that you’re gonna reread them over and over again.
Jack Cole is my favourite male character in the Wicked Series. Now that’s a hard decision to make because there are a lot of alpha males to choose from. Morgan describes Jack as, “He smelled like midnight and elemental male” and his demeanour is characterized as, “His passion had the kick of cayenne pepper, balanced with the sweetness of honey, caged in control of steel”. How can a girl not swoon?
Jack meets Morgan under the guise of being interviewed regarding the D/s lifestyle for her cable TV show. However he has revengeful ulterior motives unbeknownst to Morgan. His casual meeting over coffee results in a stalker shoot out, seeking refuge in a strip club, a smoking hot petting session and then the chapter wraps up with an escape to a secluded house in a Louisiana swamp. That’s just the first two chapters!
Wicked Ties is like an erotic lover’s testimonial. The journey of Morgan discovering her submissive was so tantalizing. Back a few years ago Wicked Ties was one of the first BDSM types of books I had read. It was evident that Shayla Black did thorough research for book structure and content. I found I shared many of the same questions and doubts that Morgan had about the D/s lifestyle and ultimately became much more comfortable reading about bondage and dominance afterwards. In fact, I love this genre of erotica now. (As well as purchasing pretty much anything that Shayla Black writes)
I love when erotic books have a great story line that I can get involved with as well as fan myself over the intense love scenes. There was a great backstory trying to figure out who was stalking Morgan, an introduction to some great secondary characters (that as a reader you want to know more about) and an emotional investment with the main characters. In subsequent books that follow Wicked Ties, I am always looking for snippets about Jack and Morgan. They are a memorable couple.
Wicked Ties is a BDSM story but there are no crops, whips or floggers (although I am sure Morgan and Jack would go down that road eventually) but mostly focuses on bondage and lots and lots of pleasure. Throw in the hottest dirty talk ever and top it off with a Ménage à trois you got yourself a winner with Wicked Ties.

Surrender to Me by Shayla Black
Kata Munoz and Hunter Edgington’s book
Surrender to Me (Wicked Lovers book 4)
By Shayla Black
Book Blurb:
A ménage a trois becomes a dangerous obsession.
A Navy SEAL accepts a hot proposition: share a buddy's girlfriend and fulfill her dream of a ménage. But after meeting Kata he needs more than one night. And he wants her all to himself-a guilty secret that becomes a dangerous fantasy.

In a sing song voice..."I luuved it". Surrender to Me
The book is called "Surrender to Me
I find D/s books hot and Shayla Black certainly delivers a lot of heat in this book.
I understood the characters so well. Hunter is an alpha male and needs to be a Dom in the bedroom however Kata has lots of reservations about being a submissive. Truthfully, her reservations are valid. She's had years of witnessing her mother being dominated by her bully stepfather and that's what she associates with a male dominating a female. Often when I read D/s books I get frustrated because the female character gives in so easily. I liked and appreciated that this entire book was a journey for Kata.
So much happened in Surrender to Me
I'm kinda on the fence about the ending though. Her submissiveness made her sounda a bit like a robot. I know it would have been hard to write how clearly she agreed to giving herself over but I kinda missed her fire and spirit. I just remembered one thing that did drive me completly nuts. Hunter's constant use of the word "Honey" OMG that grated on my nerves.
Wicked Ties was still my favourite of the series but this Wicked Series remains to still be awesome. So excited that at the end of the book there was a short blurb about Logan's book, Belong to Me.
